Terms and Conditions

By submitting your entry to the Future of Government Awards (“Awards Program”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. The Awards Program is sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Inc. (“AWS”), the United Nations Development Programme, and Public Digital Limited (“Sponsors”). The Awards Program official promoter is Public Digital Limited (“Promoter”).

From 07:00:00 (PT) on October 8, 2023 to 23:59:59 (PT) on December 14, 2023 (“Awards Program Period”), participants can submit one or more nominations through the Awards Program website at (www.futureofgovernment.com) for a chance to be listed as a winner of the Awards Program on the Awards Program website and shared on the Sponsors’ and Promoter’s social media channels. Nominations received outside of the Awards Program Period will not be accepted.

Sponsors and Promoter reserve the right to extend the Awards Program Period at their sole discretion. Sponsors' and Promoter’s (or their contractor's) servers and clocks shall be deemed the official clock for all phases of the Awards. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Sponsors and Promoter, their employees, and their immediate family members and members of their households are not eligible to participate.

About the judging criteria

All eligible entries received during the Awards Program Period will be judged by a selection committee convened by, but independent of the Sponsors and Promoter, using the selection criteria as detailed on the Awards Program website. Entries that do not meet the requirements set forth in these Terms and Conditions may be disqualified at the Sponsors’ and Promoter’s discretion.

A shortlist of potential winners will be announced on the Awards Program website and shared on Sponsors’ and Promoter’s social media channels within 28 days of the end of the Awards Program Period. Winners will be announced on the Awards Program website and shared on Sponsors’ and Promoter’s social media channels within 70 days of the end of the Awards Program Period. There is no monetary value associated with being named as winner of the Awards Program.

If you are win an award 

If you are selected as a potential winner of the Awards Program, Sponsors and Promoter may contact you at the end of the Awards Program Period to confirm your details or request further information related to your nomination.

Failure to provide the requested information or to respond to communications about the Awards Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Sponsors and Promoter in their sole discretion, may result in the forfeiture of the award.

By accepting the award, you confirm that your receipt is neither prohibited nor inconsistent with any applicable laws, regulations, or binding orders, including applicable ethics or procurement rules, your receipt will not create a conflict of interest for Sponsors or Promoter, and there are no ongoing competitive procurements for which your receipt of this benefit could conflict Sponsors or Promoter from participating in the Competition.

Privacy of nominees, winners and those making a nomination

The following personal information will be collected by the Sponsors and Promoter for the Awards Program solely for the purposes of administering the Awards Program, verifying participant eligibility, requesting further information in relation to your nomination, and to advertise the winner’s and winning entries: name, city, state or province, country, employing organisation.

Failure to provide all necessary personal information may result in participants’ participation in the Awards Program being deemed ineligible. Sponsors and Promoter may also optionally request a digital image of participants or their organisation’s logo for promotional purposes on the Awards Program website, Sponsors’ and Promoter’s social media channels. A winners list will be available at the Awards Program website for up to a year after the end of the Awards Program Period. Acceptance of awards by the winners constitutes permission for the Sponsors and Promoter to use winners’ names or likenesses, and city, state or province, and country, if submitted to the Sponsors and Promoter, for any disclosures required by law, including a winners list, and for advertising and promotional purposes relating to the Awards Program in any and all media now or hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity (or to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law), without additional compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.

Nominate responsibly

By submitting your nomination to the Awards Program, you represent and warrant that your nomination does not:

(i) perform or promote activities that are illegal;

(ii) violate or infringe the intellectual property, proprietary, or other rights of others;

(iii) perform or promote activities that are offensive or disparaging in any manner; or 

(iv) cause harm to others or to Sponsors’ or Promoter’s operations or reputation.

The Sponsors and Promoter reserve the right to cancel or modify the Awards Program at any time and for any reason. Sponsors, Promoter, their affiliates, and licensors will not be liable to you under any cause of action or theory of liability relating to the Awards Program, even if a party has been advised of the possibility of such damages, for (a) indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or (b) lost profits, revenues, customers, opportunities, or goodwill. In any case, Sponsors, Promoter, their affiliates’, and licensors’ aggregate liability under these Terms and Conditions will be USD $0.

The limitations in this paragraph shall apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
